The 1930 Ford A pick up was perfect for duty in the fire service. It was rugged enough to handle demands of fire duty yet small enough to require minimal manpower. This Battalion Chiefs vehicle was equipped with 4 large 2000 watt search lights. The lights were powered by two 500 kiliwatt Koehler electric generators which were stored under the searchlight platform. Two of these vehicles were presented to the fire department of New York in 1930.
